Driving Ferrari's twin-turbo exotic is the closest you'll ever come to experiencing a nervous breakdown.
Designed to commemorate Ferrari's 40th anniversary, the F40 is highly revered among gearheads.
And gears ⚙️ it has… this iconic car is true to the original, a 5 speed gearbox + reverse, HOG (manual) steering with working steering wheel, opening doors, hood and engine cover, independent suspension, pop up headlights, the classic black stripe and a realistic interior.
The framework is solid, the roof can be lifted from the B pillars.
The Daytona set PN 42143 shares 64% of the F40. See comparison here: https://rebrickable.com/sets/compare/slow/?1-set=MOC-140629&1-inv=167977&1-user_list=&2-set=42143-1&2-inv=138212&2-user_list=
Using the new Daytona rims, this car looks like a track ready machine. Very cool to be building with new panels and parts, and to understand the design, not your average supercar shaping!
PLEASE NOTE:
1. Only the daytona rim size will fit on the car. Smaller Sian / Bugatti rims will not fit.
2. You can add an alternate engine cover and expensive bushing, see below. I removed both from the part list because they are too expensive. The part list has instructions for both options. Adding these is not required.
The F40 is partially modular; each moving component easily removed. After many request for a corrected roof I thought I would deliver. She’s much closer now, thanks all for the constructive criticism.
